Pastor Chris Vaught

Pastor Chris grew up surrounded by the spiritual influence of a godly mother and grandparents who taught him to love God from an early age. His grandmother especially helped him understand what it meant to have a personal relationship with Jesus. At fourteen, Chris publicly committed his life to Christ and was baptized. Four years later, as a deeply introverted teenager, he began wrestling with the parable of the sower in Mark’s Gospel. After returning to the passage daily for two weeks, he sensed God calling him to a ministry of the Word. Despite his lack of confidence, Chris shared his first message from that same passage. God used that moment to confirm his call to preach and pastor.

Chris began pastoring at age eighteen and has served as the Lead Pastor of Connection Point Church since 2011. He is passionate about teaching God’s Word in a way that is clear, practical and relevant to everyday life. Beyond preaching at Connection Point, Chris enjoys speaking at

conferences, leading seminars and mentoring other pastors and ministry leaders. His heart is to help people know Jesus, grow as disciples and live faithfully wherever God has placed them.

Chris and his wife, Lisa, have been married since 1990 and have three daughters. While he is grateful for the opportunity to serve as a pastor, speaker and writer, the roles he treasures most are husband and father. He finds joy in spending time with his family, serving the church, cheering for the New York Yankees and enjoying a good cup of coffee, although those closest to him might say “a cup” is a considerable understatement.

Pastoral leadership was never meant to be done alone. Pastor Chris leads a weekly online cohort where pastors can connect with other ministry leaders, discuss the realities of ministry and grow together through intentional conversation and discipleship.
