Student Pastor
Position Summary
The Students Pastor leads the vision, discipleship strategy, and ministry environment for middle school and high school students at Connection Point Church. This role exists to help students build a growing relationship with Jesus, develop biblical foundations, and experience belonging within the life of the church through intentional discipleship, relational leadership, and engaging ministry environments. The Students Pastor creates opportunities for students to connect, grow spiritually, and begin developing ownership of their faith during critical formative years.
Key Responsibilities
This role leads weekly student gatherings, discipleship environments, volunteer leadership development, outreach opportunities, camps, retreats, and ministry events designed to help students take meaningful next steps in faith. Responsibilities include teaching biblical truth in ways students understand, building healthy relationships with students and families, developing volunteers who lead effectively, and ensuring ministry systems support both spiritual growth and safe ministry practices.
The Students Pastor also collaborates closely with parents, church leadership, and other ministry departments to align student ministry with the broader mission of Connection Point Church.
Student Ministry Leadership
- Lead weekly student gatherings
- Create engaging discipleship environments

Discipleship and Outreach
- Build relationships with students
- Participate in school and community connections
- Create opportunities for camps, mission trips, and service
Volunteer Development
- Recruit and equip volunteers
- Build leadership pathways

- Maintain clear communication with parents and students
- Provide support and guidance
Qualifications Required
- Strong relationship with Jesus Christ
- Calling to student ministry
- Strong leadership and communication ability
Preferred Qualifications
- Student ministry experience
- Experience in larger church settings
Spiritual and Cultural Alignment
The Student Pastor should model a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and lead from a place of spiritual integrity, humility, and biblical conviction. This role should reflect the mission and culture of Connection Point Church by building authentic relationships, investing in the next generation, and helping students encounter truth in a way that is relational, relevant, and rooted in Scripture. We expect this role to carry both energy and wisdom while helping students and families feel known, challenged, and supported.
We expect this role to demonstrate integrity, sound judgment, and ethical leadership while carrying out responsibilities with humility and a servant’s heart. Commitment to the mission of Connection Point Church should be reflected not only in daily work, but also in the way this role helps strengthen culture, encourage others, and support healthy ministry leadership.
Work Environment and Expectations
This role requires a flexible ministry schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and regular involvement in student ministry environments, church gatherings, and special events. Building relationships with students and families beyond scheduled gatherings is an important part of the role and contributes to the overall discipleship strategy of CPC.
