College and Young Adults Pastor
Position Summary
The College & Young Adults Pastor leads and shepherds young adults and college students ages 18–25, creating environments where they can belong, grow spiritually, and develop a personal relationship with Jesus. This role helps young adults navigate a formative season of life by building discipleship pathways, meaningful community, and intentional opportunities for spiritual growth while aligning fully with the mission and ministry culture of Connection Point Church.
Key Responsibilities
This role leads weekly gatherings, discipleship environments, small groups, outreach efforts, volunteer leadership development, and ministry events designed to help young adults and college students connect deeply within the life of the church. Responsibilities include teaching biblically sound and culturally relevant messages, building leadership pipelines, developing discipleship strategies, and creating ministry rhythms that reach both campus-based and working young adults.
The College & Young Adults Pastor also collaborates closely with student ministry, worship, media, and broader church leadership to create ministry continuity and healthy connections across generations.
Ministry Leadership
- Lead weekly gatherings and discipleship efforts
- Build an authentic community among young adults
Outreach and Engagement
- Build connections within SEMO and the local community
- Participate in campus outreach opportunities
Volunteer Development
- Recruit and equip volunteers
- Develop young adult leaders
Transition and Alignment
- Work alongside the student ministry for a strong ministry transition
Qualifications Required
- Strong relationship with Jesus Christ
- Passion for young adult ministry
- Strong relational and teaching ability
Preferred Qualifications
- College or young adult ministry experience
Spiritual and Cultural Alignment
The College and Young Adults Pastor should demonstrate spiritual maturity, relational leadership, and a genuine passion for helping young adults grow in their faith and identity in Christ. This role should closely align with Connection Point Church’s mission and ministry philosophy by creating environments that are biblically grounded, welcoming, and intentionally focused on discipleship and connection. We expect this role to lead with integrity, initiative, and a servant’s heart while helping young adults find meaningful belonging and purpose.

Work Environment and Expectations
This role requires flexibility in scheduling, including evenings and weekends, and regular engagement in both church and community environments where young adults naturally gather. Active relational presence and consistent ministry involvement are essential in building trust, connection, and discipleship opportunities.
