Connection Point Church is an independent church. We are a pastor-led church with a board of elders who provide accountability and share CPC's vision and mission.
The following overviews our core beliefs and the scriptures that inform them.
If you have any questions about our beliefs or want to learn more about what it means to follow Jesus, feel free to reach out!
Our Beliefs
We believe that there is only one true, living, and eternal God and that the Godhead is revealed as Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
John 5:6-9; Deuteronomy 6:4; John 14:9-11; 1 Corinthians 8:4-6
The Bible
God
There is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections. God is all powerful and all knowing; and His perfect knowledge extends to all things, past, present, and future, including the future decisions of His free creatures. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience. The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.
God the Father
God as Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and the flow of the stream of human history according to the purposes of His grace. He is all powerful, all knowing, all loving, and all wise. God is Father in truth to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ. He is fatherly in His attitude toward all men.

God the Son
Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus perfectly revealed and did the will of God, taking upon Himself human nature with its demands and necessities and identifying Himself completely with mankind yet without sin. He honored the divine law by His personal obedience, and in His substitutionary death on the cross He made provision for the redemption of men from sin. He was raised from the dead with a glorified body and appeared to His disciples as the person who was with them before His crucifixion. He ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where He is the One Mediator, fully God, fully man, in whose Person is effected the reconciliation between God and man. He will return in power and glory to judge the world and to consummate His redemptive mission. He now dwells in all believers as the living and ever present Lord.

God the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine. He inspired holy men of old to write the Scriptures. Through illumination He enables men to understand truth. He exalts Christ. He convicts men of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He calls men to the Saviour, and effects regeneration. At the moment of regeneration He baptizes every believer into the Body of Christ. He cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and bestows the spiritual gifts by which they serve God through His church. He seals the believer unto the day of final redemption. His presence in the Christian is the guarantee that God will bring the believer into the fullness of the stature of Christ. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service.

Man
We believe that God created man in His own image to bring Him honor through obedience, and that when man disobeyed, he became a fallen and sinful creature, unable to save himself. We believe that infants are in the covenant of God’s grace and that all persons become accountable to God when they reach a state of moral responsibility.
(Genesis 1:26-27; 2:7; Isaiah 43:7; Romans 1:8-23)
Salvation
We believe that salvation (regeneration, sanctification, justification and redemption) has been provided for all mankind through the redemptive work (life, death, resurrection, ascension and intercession) of Jesus Christ, and that this salvation can be received only through repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
(Romans 10:8-13; John 3:3-8; 3:16)
Christian Duties
We believe that Christians should live faithfully by serving in and through the local church, praying diligently, witnessing earnestly, practicing tolerance, showing loving kindness, giving as God prospers and conducting themselves in such a way as to bring glory to God.
(Matthew 6:1-13; 28:18-20; 2nd Chronicles 7:14; Acts 1:8)
The Church
We believe that the Church Universal is the Body of Christ, the fellowship of believers and that its members have been called out from the world to come under the dominion and authority of Christ, its head. We believe the local church is a fellowship of Christians, a part of the Body of Christ, voluntarily banded together for worship, nurture and service.
(Acts 2:37-47)
Last Things
We believe in the personal return of Jesus Christ, and in the bodily resurrection of the dead. We believe that God will judge all mankind by Jesus Christ; that He will reward the righteous with eternal life in heaven and that He will banish the unrighteous to everlasting punishment in hell.
(Luke 12:40; John 14:3; Acts 1:11; 1st Thessalonians 4:16-17)
Marriage & Sexuality
We believe the term “marriage” has only one meaning and this is marriage sanctioned by God which joins one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to only occur between a man and a woman who are united in marriage. We believe all other forms of sexual conduct such as adultery, premarital sex, homosexuality, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, pornography or the attempt to change one’s biological sex to be against God’s teaching, sinful and offensive to God.
(Genesis 2:22-25; Leviticus 18:22; Matthew 5:22-28; Romans 1: 24-28; 1st Corinthians 6: 15-20, 7: 2-5; Galatians 5: 19-21;
Colossians 3: 5-6; 1st Thessalonians 4: 3-7)
