21-Day Fast 2026
February 22 – March 15

Each year, our church family sets aside intentional time to seek God together.
For 21 days, we will slow down, remove distractions, and turn our attention toward the Lord through Scripture, prayer, and fasting.

This season is meant to help us refocus our hearts, listen more closely to God, and begin forming daily spiritual rhythms we can continue long after these 21 days end.

How This Connects to Our 2026 Focus

Our theme this year is Deeply Rooted — learning to build our lives on God’s Word so our faith is steady in every season.

Scripture describes a life with God like a tree planted near a steady source of water:

“He is like a tree planted beside flowing streams that bears its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither.” — Psalm 1:3 (CSB)

The 21 Days of Fasting & Prayer is one of the ways we begin growing those roots.
We are not trying to add more activity to your life. We are learning how to live from a deeper source — daily time with God.

End of Fast

What have you learned or experienced the last three weeks?

Why We Fast

Fasting is a biblical practice that helps us intentionally depend on God.

Throughout Scripture, God’s people fasted when they wanted to humble their hearts, seek His direction, or pray with greater focus. Fasting does not earn God’s approval. It helps us turn our attention back to Him.

When we fast, we temporarily give up something physical so we can become more attentive spiritually. Hunger, distraction, or habit becomes a reminder to pray.

Jesus taught that fasting would be a normal part of following Him (Matthew 6:16–18).

Fasting helps us: refocus our attention, grow in self-control, pray more intentionally, and depend on God instead of ourselves!

You may fast food, media, entertainment, or another regular habit. The purpose is not what you remove — it is who you seek.

If you are unable to fast from food for medical reasons, you can still fully participate by fasting from something else and engaging in prayer and Scripture.

God is not asking for perfection. He is inviting your heart.

In episode #3 of our Life on Point Podcast, Pastor Chris and Pastor Darren explain what fasting is, how to fast, and discuss the heart behind fasting.

How to Participate

You don’t need experience with fasting or Bible reading. Start where you are.

For these 21 days, we are practicing a simple daily rhythm together.

1. Read Scripture

Follow the daily reading plan as we walk through passages from the New Testament and Psalms together.

You don’t have to understand everything. We are learning to spend time with God in His Word.

You can use the H.E.A.R. Method:

H – Highlight a verse

E – Explain what it means in context

A – Apply it to your life

R – Respond in prayer

“Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path.” — Psalm 119:105

Watch the video below for more on the H.E.A.R. Method:

2. Pray

Each day includes a short prayer focus. Some days center on personal spiritual growth, and others focus on our church, our community, and God’s work around us. Those prompts can be found on our social media once the fast begins.

Prayer does not need to be long or complicated. Talk to God honestly.

“Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” — Philippians 4:6

3. Fast

Choose something to set aside during these 21 days:

meals or certain foods, social media, entertainment, and another distraction.

Use those moments as reminders to pray.

Start small if needed. Consistency matters more than intensity.

4. Practice Stillness

Set aside a few quiet minutes each day. No phone. No multitasking. Read Scripture and sit quietly before God.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

This may feel unfamiliar at first. That’s normal. We are learning together. To learn more about Silence and Solitude, click here.

5. Respond

As God teaches, convicts, or encourages you, respond in obedience — through repentance, forgiveness, generosity, or taking a next step of faith.

“But be doers of the word and not hearers only.” — James 1:22

The goal is not just information.
The goal is a life shaped by God.
